Internet that fits your everyday life.

You don’t need the biggest contract possible. You need a connection that runs everything that is important to you at home. Before comparing, think briefly about how you use the Internet.

What is important to you about the Internet?
Home office

The upload is included in the comparison.

In a video call, you send data instead of just receiving it. Even large files in the cloud need uploading. So don't just look at the widely advertised download number.

If your desk Wi-Fi is weak, a faster contract alone won't solve the problem. Router location and connection to the device also count.

Compare suitable internet tariffs

DSL, cable or fiber optic: let your address decide.

An attractive tariff is of little help to you if the provider cannot supply your home. Therefore, check the offers for your exact connection address. Different lines may be available on the same street.

Our DSL comparison also includes cable and fiber optic tariffs. You don't have to decide on a technology beforehand. See what's available and then compare price, speed and contract term.

Home office workspace.

Work, video calls and free time: your connection has to suit everyday life at home.

DSL: via the telephone line

DSL and VDSL tariffs are possible for an existing telephone connection. The speed that arrives depends, among other things, on the line and the distance to the distributor.

It’s your local connection speed that matters—not the advertised maximum.

Cable: via the TV cable network

A suitable cable connection can be an alternative to DSL. High download rates are possible; How busy the local network is can be noticeable in everyday life.

Also compare the upload. You only need an additional TV package if you actually want it.

Fiber optic: up to the house or apartment

Fiber optic can offer high data rates in both directions. However, a planned expansion is not yet a usable connection. Check whether and from when the tariff can be switched on.

FTTH extends into the apartment, FTTB into the building. Check connection costs and existing house cabling.

Cheap internet remains affordable even after the launch months.

A low entry price attracts attention. However, the entire contract period counts for your decision. For a 24 monthly offer, also calculate over 24 months and look at the monthly fee after the promotion.

The price after the promotion
How much will you pay each month later? An average price smoothes out cheap and expensive months; it is not automatically your invoice amount.
Router and connection
Router rental, shipping and provision are included in the invoice. If you want to use your own router, check its suitability for the new connection.
Cashback subject to conditions
A credit can be worthwhile. Read whether you have to submit an invoice and what the deadline is. Money that has not yet been paid out does not pay the current bill.
Just the extras you use
TV packages, additional phone options or higher speeds must be worth the extra cost for you. Don't habitually continue paying for unused services.

Compare this with your current monthly amount. This way, you can see whether another tariff is really cheaper or if you get more suitable coverage for a similar price.

If your contract has been running for a long time, it is worth looking at the end of the contract. After a tacit extension beyond the initial term, you can cancel with one month's notice. You then don't have to wait for a full minimum term again.

  1. Find offers for your home

Compare available plans for your address. Have your current provider and the end of your contract ready if you want to switch.

  2. Choose your tariff

If the offer suits you, start the application at Praedurion. Check coverage, total costs, and contract documents before placing your binding order.

  3. Coordinate the switch

If possible, instruct the new provider to cancel and port your phone number. He confirms acceptance and switching date.

Are you moving?

First, check whether your current provider can deliver the agreed service at your new address. If so, the contract generally continues without a new term. If not, Section 60 of the Telecommunications Act (TKG) allows for termination with one month's notice.

Plan your connection early enough. When switching providers at the same location, rules regarding continued service apply; a move may proceed differently. We therefore cannot guarantee an uninterrupted internet connection in all cases.

In preparation: your switch alert

Don’t miss your next switch again.

Finding a good deal today is one thing. But later, the cancellation notice period easily slips your mind in daily life.

That’s why we are planning a switch alert: it is meant to notify you when your contract can be switched again and there are cheaper suitable alternatives. You shouldn’t have to start the search from scratch every time.

The switch alert is not active yet. Until then, please note the end of your contract and the notice period yourself. A comparison or contract does not activate any notifications.

Questions before your DSL comparison

Why compare DSL at Praedurion?

Because otherwise you often have to compare CHECK24 with Verivox as well. Offers and promotions may differ. With Praedurion, you find the available tariffs from both portals together and can apply for a suitable tariff that can be concluded online directly here. This saves you the second search. These two portal inventories are compared, not the entire market.

Which internet provider is the cheapest for me?

This depends on your connection address, the available technology and your desired plan. A promotional price for the first few months is not enough as a benchmark. Compare total costs over the same period, including the router, setup fees and possible credits. A comparison with your current contract will show whether a change is worth it for you.

Can I compare cable and fiber internet?

Yes. In addition to DSL, the Internet comparison also takes into account cable and fiber optic offers from the two portals, as long as they are available for your information. The provider confirms the final availability and switching date. A fiber optic expansion in the street does not mean that the connection in your apartment can already be used.

Is there DSL without a minimum term or Internet that can be canceled on a monthly basis?

Such offers do exist, but their availability depends on the address and provider. Compare the total cost burden: A short-term contract may have a higher basic fee or setup costs. If an existing internet contract has been tacitly extended after its initial term, you can terminate it with one month's notice under § 56 TKG.

Do I need a fixed-line connection if I only want Wi-Fi?

WiFi connects your devices wirelessly to the router. The router, for its part, needs Internet access, for example via DSL, cable or fiber optic. You don't have to want to make additional calls. Compare Internet without landline telephony but also with combined tariffs: An included telephone package does not automatically make a contract more expensive. You should only book TV extras if you need them.

Do I have to cancel my old internet contract myself?

When switching providers, you should, if possible, have the new provider handle the cancellation and requested number transfer. This allows the providers to coordinate the change. Don’t cancel yourself prematurely if you want to keep your number. If you have already cancelled or are exercising a special termination right, inform the new provider.

Can I keep my landline number?

If you change provider at the same connection location, it is generally possible to take it with you. Assign it to the new provider and make sure that customer data matches. You may not be charged any direct fees for porting your phone number. However, if you move to a different area code, you cannot simply take your previous local number with you.

Does using the comparison tool already conclude a contract?

No. You can first look at the available offers. If a tariff fits and can be purchased online, start your application at Praedurion. You only place a binding order after checking the contract overview and your express confirmation. The provider then confirms acceptance and the start of the connection.
