We'll do the comparison of portals for you.
Found a portal, entered data, viewed offers. Then the thought comes: is the same tariff cheaper elsewhere? So everything again. Other bonuses and promotions do not make the decision easier.
We compare the comparators for you. At Praedurion you will find the available electricity tariffs from CHECK24 and Verivox together. You save yourself the back and forth and can choose the offer that suits your household.
So which portal is cheaper now?
Search on CHECK24. Start again on Verivox. Put prices and promotions side by side. All you really wanted was to switch supplier.
We take care of the second comparison.
You get the offers from CHECK24 and Verivox in one place. Pick the tariff that suits you and start your switch directly here.
We compare the offers available from these two portals, not the entire electricity market. Whether you save depends on your current contract and the suitable alternatives. You can apply for offers that can be completed online directly here.
Your next contract
Check if your electricity is cheaper
A comparison for your place of residence and your consumption. If an offer is right, you can start your switch right away at Praedurion.
Your most recent electricity bill is the best place to start.
For your electricity price comparison, the annual consumption in kilowatt hours counts, not the monthly deduction. You can find the kWh value on your last complete annual bill. This allows you to compare offers for the same needs.
Has anything changed at home? A new electric car, electric water heating or another person can increase consumption. Then adjust the value instead of simply taking over the old bill.
Without a complete accounting year, you can first estimate. However, a short accounting period or the number of people alone does not provide a reliable annual value.

Use the annual consumption from your electricity bill to compare tariffs for the same usage.
A good electricity price is convincing even after the bonus.
A new customer bonus can be worth it. If you plan to keep the contract long-term, focus on ongoing costs: annual consumption multiplied by the energy price plus the annual base fee. The example shows how a one-time bonus alters the comparison ranking.
A bonus can reverse the order.
Tariff A: 34 ct/kWh, €10 monthly base fee, and a one-off €180 bonus. Tariff B: 30 ct/kWh and a €15 monthly base fee, with no bonus. All amounts are assumed gross prices; no further costs are included.
Turn off the bonus to see the ongoing costs. With higher consumption, the energy price becomes more significant.

No tariff offer and no guaranteed savings. The monthly figure is not a deduction. For the bonus calculation, it is assumed that all payout conditions are met. The invoice without bonus only shows the costs for another year if prices remain unchanged and consumption remains the same. Your selection remains on this page and is neither saved nor sent.
An electricity comparison without a bonus will help you assess the contract beyond the first year. The calculated monthly average is not automatically your deduction. Plan with the actual payment schedule and credit disbursement date.
Compare with my consumption nowChange cheaper without committing yourself to an inappropriate commitment.
The price has to be right. And the contract should still suit you in a few months. These four points will help you choose.
Your consumption decides
A low energy price is ideal for high consumption. In small households, a low base fee may be more critical. Annual costs help determine which combination is truly cheaper overall.
Compare with your own contract, not just with a given reference tariff.
Really get the bonus
A new customer bonus can make the switch attractive. Check whether you meet the requirements and when the credit will be paid out. Previous contracts with the provider can also count.
A one-time bonus does not permanently reduce the price of work.
Remain flexible during term
How long do you want to commit? The minimum term, notice period and extension determine when you can switch again. A short price guarantee does not shorten a long contract.
After confirmation, record the next cancellation date.
Plan with the price guarantee
A guarantee can give you more planning security. What matters is which price components it covers and how long it is valid for. Taxes, duties or levies may be excluded.
Compare the guarantee period with the contract term.
If you pay a large amount in advance, you pay for electricity before it is delivered. Package tariffs can become expensive if there is excess consumption and do not necessarily compensate for underconsumption. Such offers may be included in the comparison. A low price alone is not a reason to take on these risks.
Switch electricity provider. The connection stays, the contract is new.
When you switch providers normally, your electricity stays on. No lines will be converted. Choose a suitable offer and apply for the new contract at Praedurion. With your power of attorney, the new provider can usually also take care of the regular termination.

When can you change?
For basic supply, a notice period of two weeks in text form applies. In the case of a special contract, its term applies. This also applies if both tariffs come from the same municipal utilities.
Since the 6. June 2025, the technical electricity supplier change is processed within 24 hours on working days. This does not result in a right to terminate a current contract at any time within one day.
When a unilateral price increase occurs, you generally have a special right of termination; legal exceptions may apply. If the deadline is tight, cancel the contract yourself in a verifiable manner and inform the new provider. There is no additional fee for switching suppliers.
- 24 hours
- For the technical change process on working days after the requirements are met.
- Your contract period
- For the end of the previous contract. It is not shortened by the faster process.
New apartment? Add the electricity contract to your checklist early.
If possible, arrange the start of delivery before moving in. A retroactive assignment to the selected electricity provider is not possible. Anyone who uses electricity without a suitable contract may initially end up on the basic supply.
When handing over, note down the meter number, meter reading and date. The market location ID, or MaLo-ID for short, helps the provider to assign the delivery point; otherwise it needs other unique connection data.
For the previous special contract, § 41b EnWG generally provides for termination with six weeks' notice when changing residence. If your supplier offers to continue the contract under the existing conditions at the new place of residence in a timely manner and can deliver there, this special right of termination does not apply.
The overview also helps you when you first move out of your first own apartment. first own apartment.

Note the meter reading at handover and arrange for supply to start before you move in if possible.
Compare green electricity and look more closely.
If renewable energy is important to you, include green electricity tariffs in your selection. Guarantees of origin prove that the amount of electricity sold is generated from renewable sources. However, they alone do not show whether your tariff supports additional systems or projects.
Labels such as green electricity or ok-power can help with this question. Check whether the exact tariff offered is certified. Praedurion takes over the labeling of the portals and does not issue its own environmental certification.
Dynamic electricity tariffs do not suit everyone's everyday life.
For a dynamic electricity tariff you need an intelligent metering system. A digital meter alone is not automatically enough. Part of the price follows short-term stock market prices: Anyone who can specifically charge their electric car at convenient times has different options than a household with little shiftable consumption.
You also bear the risk of high prices. A low forecast annual value is not a price commitment, and a negative market price does not make the entire kilowatt hour free. Variable tariffs adjusted monthly are different from dynamic tariffs with short price intervals.
Also at Gas comparison and DSL comparison you can save yourself the double portal search. Different providers may be cheaper for different contracts.
Don’t miss your next switch again.
Finding a good deal today is one thing. But later, the cancellation notice period easily slips your mind in daily life.
That’s why we are planning a switch alert: it is meant to notify you when your contract can be switched again and there are cheaper suitable alternatives. You shouldn’t have to start the search from scratch every time.
The switch alert is not active yet. Until then, please note the end of your contract and the notice period yourself. A comparison or contract does not activate any notifications.
Questions before your electricity comparison
Which electricity provider is the cheapest?
This depends on your delivery address, your annual consumption and the current offers. Compare the annual costs for the same information. A high bonus can change the order in the first year without permanently reducing ongoing costs. At Praedurion you can see offers from CHECK24 and Verivox together and compare them with your previous contract.
Why compare electricity tariffs at Praedurion?
So you don’t have to compare with comparison portals like CHECK24 and Verivox. They may offer different deals or terms. We simplify the search for you. You’ll see all available tariffs from both portals in one place and can apply directly online.
Is it worth comparing electricity without a bonus?
Yes, especially if you want to keep a contract long-term. Multiply your annual consumption by the unit price and add the annual fixed fee—excluding any one-time bonuses—to see your ongoing costs. The example on this page shows how rankings can shift without a bonus. For the next year, this calculation only applies if prices and usage stay the same.
Is the monthly comparison price my discount?
Not automatically. A comparison price can spread the annual costs, including a later bonus, over twelve months. The provider determines the actual discounts. Therefore, check the payment schedule so that you know what will be withdrawn from the account and when.
Can I switch from the basic energy supply at any time?
You can terminate your basic electricity supply contract in text form with two weeks’ notice. This deadline does not automatically apply to a special tariff from the same municipal utility. Check the invoice to see what type of contract you have.
Will I be briefly without power when switching electricity suppliers?
The normal change of supplier does not interrupt your power supply. Nobody has to rebuild the line for this. In the future, you will receive your electricity from another supplier. Have the start of delivery confirmed and record the meter reading before changing. Technical network disruptions are independent of this.
What do I need for the electricity comparison?
For the initial electricity tariff comparison, you'll need your postcode and annual consumption in kWh. Have your latest annual bill ready. If you later want to switch, you'll also need your delivery address and connection/contract details like your market location ID or meter data. Name and bank details aren't required for the initial comparison.
Can I apply for my new electricity contract directly here?
Yes, for offers that can be completed online, you start the application directly at Praedurion. The comparison alone does not mandate a change. You first check the contract overview and documents and expressly confirm the order. The provider then confirms the delivery and its start.
